Fundraising is an important part of almost every organization. Whether for school, for sports, for the church or even to help out a family, we’ve all been involved at some point.
Some of the things we’ve done when selling Fresh-N products to make the fundraising more FUN have been to play games.
Toss the Diva – like a bean bag toss game, if you Toss the Diva and it lands inside the box you’ve drawn on the floor, you win a prize.
Smelliest Shoe/Sports Equipment Contest – bring in your smelliest shoe or piece of sports equipment and the winner gets a prize.
Grossest fridge story – everyone has a story about something going bad in a fridge. Tell the story and Win!

Frozen Vegetables Belong in the Freezer, not Your Crisper
Has this every happened to you?
You go to the fridge to grab a head of green, leafy lettuce, envisioning a wonderful salad, and instead pull out a frozen, crispy ball of greens. What happened? How is it possible that fresh vegetables can become frozen in the crisper?
You’ve changed the fridge settings to a warmer temperature, and you’ve adjusted the crisper’s humidity levels and yet, there are still some items that continue to have icicles on them. And to add insult to injury, there is a puddle forming on the bottom shelf of your fridge, where a recent thaw has occurred.
Are you as frustrated as I am with this? Well, it appears there is a reason that this happens. When moisture is introduced to the fridge, via our vegetables, which our local grocers insist on misting, along with the normal process of condensation, the result is a buildup of moisture that the fridge is not equipped to diminish. When there is too much moisture in the fridge, the fridge needs to work harder, and therefore; the temperature swing begins, with the collected moisture freezing, and affecting anything near it. Then when the fridge stops running, the temperature gets warmer and the thaw begins…. And the cycle continues.
I have done lots of research and found that this is a common concern, and one that seems not to have lasting solution; however, we have found that our Fresh-N Fridge and Fresh-N Crisper pouches not only reduce the moisture in our fridge, and stop the freeze from happening, but also lessens the running time, as it the fridge doesn’t have to work as hard to regulate the temperature. The result of all of this is that our fresh vegetables stay crisper, longer.
Every season we choose a few consumer shows to participate in. This fall we have chosen the West Coast Christmas Show. We participated in the show last year, had a great time and met some fantastic people, so decided to join the fun for a second year.
This year our booth is #257 and we are directly across from the Home for the Holidays Presentation Stage, which unfortunately is at the other end of the building from the Holiday Spirits Tastings.
In our booth you’ll find great stocking stuffers. We have something for everyone, from Dad’s golf bag with Gentlemen Gems to dry out his golf shoes; to Sportzgemz5 for your nephew stinky hockey bag – so he can have dry gloves each game; to Diva Diamondz for your favorite girlfriend who LOVES shoes and wants to keep all her shoes store bought fresh. We also have Kitchen Fresh-N for Grandma who always has a full fridge and doesn’t want the cranberries tasting like the onions. Pet Fresh-N are a must have for your aunt that adores her cats! and lots more.
On the Home For The Holiday Presentation Stage, the main stage across from our booth, Anna Olsen, the host of Sugar on Food Network Canada will be demonstrating her unique creations to inspire cooks-at-home to create more imaginative holiday meals. Karl Lohnes, Canadian design guru will teach and entertain with the latest in design and décor ideas for your home this holiday season.
As you enter the West Coast Christmas Show, you will be welcomed by a wonderful array of dozens of decorated Christmas trees, all part of the Festival Of Trees where local businesses and charities will decorate trees and compete for a grand prize. Walk through the corridor of beautifully decorated trees and stop to watch and listen to school choirs and bands performing Christmas carols. It will be sure to rekindle your Christmas Spirit for the coming Holidays.
With 27 days remaining before Christmas, the West Coast Christmas Show’s timing is perfect for visitors to stock up on holiday entertaining needs and discover new ideas on home decorating and entertaining for a fun-filled Holiday Season.
